The Hepworth is a striking modern building housing an art gallery on the south bank of the River Calder at Wakefield. Opened in 2011, it attracts large numbers of visitors. The car park is situated on Thornes Lane on the north bank from which access on foot is by a dedicated footbridge which cuts out the more circuitous route along the footway on the busy Doncaster Road bridge.
